This image came about while celebrating carnival during our first week here on St. John. Carnival is a yearly celebration of emancipation for many local West Indians and Juve’ is the culmination of three weeks of food, music, and dance. Every year at four in the morning there is a steel drum parade that dances through the streets with the rest of the town dancing behind. It was an interesting celebration, and great insight into Caribbean culture.
